暌違二十六年 重返燕雲十六州 架空歷史的平行世界來自對土地的深度關懷

A Parallel Universe Void of Historical Burden, A Story Carrying the Deepest Concern for Our Land.

二十六年前，明華園總團推出《燕雲十六州》，大手筆結合中廣國樂團演奏、請來名作曲家山風跨域合作，呈現聲勢浩大、盪氣迴腸的史詩面貌，試圖打造「傳統戲劇音樂劇」。總團長陳勝福表示：「演出後竟意外帶起兩岸傳統藝術跨域合作的交流風潮，令明華園始料未及。」

二十六年後，翻新版的《燕雲十六州》刪減了一些故事橋段，新增不同的角色人物，同時讓更多青年藝術家參與演出，展現明華園總團的傳承力量。延續明華園從人性出發的戲劇特色，首席編導陳勝國借用五代十國後周與北遼爭奪燕雲十六州的史事，打造一個歷史的平行時空，在這個架空的宇宙借用真實的歷史人物及事件，編寫出虛擬情節，注入對土地的深度關懷。陳勝國說：「這齣戲的靈感來自時事、人生體驗、書本、其他劇種等，動盪不安的年代最容易顯露人心與人性，還有市井小民對生活的盼望，我所創作的戲劇只演七分，剩下的三分就留給觀眾去思考。」

26 years ago, Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Cultural Group premiered “The Sixteen Prefectures”, it was a ground breaking attempt to produce a “musical” of Taiwanese opera. In the same time, it also started the trend for cross-over collaboration involving various experts and top talents of their respective field across the Taiwan Straits.

26 years later, “The Sixteen Prefectures” return with a newly edited storyline, characters, participation of young artists and performers to carry the torch of continuing the legacy. Ming Hwa Yuan’s production ethos has consistently been based upon quality that encompassed humanity. The national award-winning playwright, Chen Shen-Guo loosely referencing historical events from the era of The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms as the framework, but created a parallel universe with an alternative storyline. “This play includes my utmost care and love towards our lands…” as stated by Chen Shen-Guo, the director and playwright of “The Sixteen Prefectures”.

▎故事背景 The Backstory

西元936年，時序進入五代十國時期，石敬瑭反後唐自立，竟以45歲之齡認34歲的遼太宗為父，以割讓燕雲十六州為代價，請求兵援取得帝位，讓中原自此失去北方屏障。其後數百年，漢族各朝代均以收復燕雲十六州為志業。

Because of the strategic military location, the Sixteen Prefectures has always been contentious zone during various dynasty. In 936 A.D., the timeline is within the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Shi JingTang, at the age of 45, declared independence from Later Tang Dynasty, he gave himself up to become the adopted son of a younger, then 34-year-old Emperor Taizong of Liao. To further secure his position, he also pledged the Sixteen Prefectures to Liao Empire for their military backing. For the next few centuries, it has been the national goals of Han’s people and their dynasty to reclaim the Sixteen Prefectures.

劇情大綱 Synopsis

西元959年，遼周邊境的燕雲十六州戰雲密布，年僅20的遼軍守將耶律青龍大敗後周世宗柴榮的常勝軍，而耶律青龍竟是奴僕出身，震驚世人。

時光退回到十年前，10歲的耶律青龍牽著10歲的君雨宮現身燕雲十六州的幽州城街道，熟悉的建築卻呈現異國風光，讓兩個孩子既興奮又好奇。遼國統治後的漢人百姓位居下等，統稱「奴僕」，常受遼人欺負。這一日，雨宮的父親遭受遼軍毆打，小耶律青龍見狀憤怒反擊，適逢遼國壽安王耶律璟落寞行經此地，感嘆自己為漢人出頭竟換來皇帝賜下彈弓譏諷，氣憤之餘將彈弓丟置於地，耶律青龍趁機撿起擊傷遼兵。

漢人小孩在幽州城打傷遼國軍人非但無罪，耶律璟反將孤兒耶律青龍收入麾下，十年來悉心栽培教導武藝兵法，兩人既是君臣，亦情同師徒。安壽王稱帝後，青龍更平步青雲，官拜燕雲都督。

柴榮得知敵國強將原為漢人後，使計籠絡並策反青龍故鄉的西洛村鄉親，企圖喚起他身為漢人的原生情感。另一方面大遼也佈下攻防之策，兩國間的角力陰謀籠罩，將青龍和無辜的雨宮及西洛村民步步推入危險之境。

耶律青龍夾在安壽王的恩情與昔日舊友的情誼間左右為難，他一心只想守護生活在這片土地上的人，然而事情的發展終究脫離他的掌控之外……。

In 959 A.D., war broke out at the border of the Sixteen Prefectures, now under Liao’s rule and Zhou Empire. The seasoned Emperor Shizong of Later Zhou, Chai Rong led his army to war against Liao General Yelü QingLong, a young man only 20 years of age. The shocking outcome saw the low born Yelü QingLong who started as a slave, defeating Zhou’s Army.

Emperor Chai Rong investigations led to the discovery that the Great General of Liao, Yelü QingLong is originally of Han descent. He was rescued from a bullying incident by Liao’s Prince, Yelü Jing who took QingLong under his wing. Emperor Chai Rong located his childhood friends and used them to draw out his sentiment towards his Han identity. Yelü QingLong internal struggle ensue, finding himself torn by loyalty and duty towards the prince as well as by the friendship and memories forged during his childhood. Worse still, the situation is fast spiraling out of his control……

遼周邊界首戰告捷力敗周軍，一戰成名，引起柴榮注意，將其定為隱患。和青梅竹馬君雨宮感情甚篤，倆人雖自十歲分離，一個居住遼宮殿、一個住在城郊西洛村，卻經常相會於幽州城。他與遼帝耶律璟有君臣之情、師徒之恩，視柴榮為仇敵，讓立場不同的兒時鄉親對他頗不諒解。

Made a name for himself after defeated the invading Zhou in just their first encounter. QingLong caught the attention of Chai Rong and branded as a hidden threat. Very close to his childhood friend Jun YuGong, although they’re separated at the age of 10, one staying at Liao’s Palace, while the other at outskirt Siroc Village but meet frequently in You Prefecture. He pledges his unwavering loyalty to Emperor Yelü Jing both as his minister of the court as well as his mentee. His animosity towards Chai Rong resulted in the falling-out with his hometown community.

燕雲都督，漢人出身，年約二十，劍眉星目，俊如冠玉。影響周世宗柴榮能否奪取燕雲的關鍵人物。幼為無父無母的孤兒，深受西洛村鄉親照顧，後被耶律璟收為徒弟，傳授一身武藝兵法。有心將燕雲治理成不分遼漢、和樂共融的人間樂土，奈何事與願違。

Commander of the Sixteen Prefectures, a young man about 20 years of age. Born as a Han, dashingly handsome. The key person that will decide the outcome of Emperor Chai Rong plan to reclaim the 16 Prefectures of Yan and Yun. Originally an orphan growing up with the support of Siroc Village community, QingLong later on became an apprentice to Yelü Jing, trained specifically in combating and military skills. He aspires to govern the 16 Prefectures region without racial segregation, a utopia without discrimination, but reality bites.

The Khitans, eldest son of previous Emperor of Liao. While Yelü Jing was the prince regent, it was Yelü Ruan, his cousin who inherited the throne instead. To humiliate Yelü Jing for his constant standing up for the marginalized Han, Emperor Yelü Ruan presented him a slingshot as a gift. He later killed his royal cousin to take over the throne of Liao for himself, ascending to be the fourth emperor of the Khitan-led Liao dynasty of China.

Emperor Shizong of Later Zhou, his many successful military campaigns including the conquest of Northern Han, the defeat of Later Shu and the surrendering of Southern Tang territories that brought about great political stability to his empire. Chai Rong’s life goal is to reunite the 16 Prefectures, but to conquer Liao, he needed to grasp the critical weakness of Yelü QingLong.

While serving their sentence in forced labour, Belly devised an escape plan in pigsty that saved the life of Jun YuGong….
